Warsaw Gasworks Museum

The Warsaw Gasworks Museum is located on the grounds of the former Municipal Gasworks in Warsaw's Wola district - one of the oldest gasworks in this part of Europe, operating since 1856. The current building complex was erected in 1888.

History

At its time, this was the largest gasworks in Polish lands. Today the grounds of the former gasworks are under conservation protection and entered in the register of monuments - a testament to industrial and technical development.

What to see

The exhibition presents the history of the gas industry, from the first gas lamps on Warsaw's streets to modern infrastructure - historic gas meters, lamps, tools, documents and photographs. Part of the exhibition is multimedia and interactive, set within historic interiors.
