Water Forge in Oliwa

The only preserved technical monument of its kind in Poland - a hammer mill powered by the water wheels of the Oliwa Stream. The site has been documented since 1597 and operated until 1948. Since 2018 it has been a branch of the Museum of Gdańsk, located in the Tricity Landscape Park.

Equipment

  • Three historic water wheels (two 4 m in diameter, one 3.1 m)
  • Mechanical hammers and metalworking equipment
  • A double-sided workshop on both sides of the stream
