Gródek Hydroelectric Power Plant

A valuable technical monument on the Wda river, put into operation in April 1923 by President Stanisław Wojciechowski. Construction was carried out under the supervision of Prof. Alfons Hoffmann and Prof. Gabriel Narutowicz. Until 1929 it was the largest and most modern hydroelectric power plant in Poland.

Significance

  • A monument to Polish hydrotechnical thought of the interwar period
  • Visited annually (together with Żur) by over 2,000 people

Tours by prior arrangement, for groups of at least 10 people, mainly 8:00-14:00 on working days.
