Krzysztof Gach's Shepherd's Hut on Turbacz

A shepherd's hut located on Hala Długa below the summit of Turbacz in the Gorce Mountains, clearly visible from the PTTK mountain shelter on Turbacz - a must-visit point on hikes in this region. Shepherd Krzysztof Gach has been grazing sheep on the meadow for many years, producing traditional sheep's cheeses.

Products

  • oscypek made according to an old recipe (from sheep's milk with an addition of cow's milk)
  • other sheep's cheeses sold to tourists

Smoking the cheese in the hut takes several days - a laborious, time-consuming process.

Practical information
