Mirów Halls

The Mirów Halls are a complex of two twin market halls in the centre of Warsaw, erected between 1899 and 1902 on the site of the partially demolished Mirów barracks. They are among the most recognisable commercial sites of the capital and are entered in the register of historic monuments (no. 1283, 1986).

Location and surroundings

The western hall (Mirowska) is located at Mirowski Square 1, the eastern hall (Gwardii) at Żelazna Brama Square 1. An extensive open-air marketplace operates around the halls.

What's on offer / Highlights

The marketplace is famous for seasonal vegetables and fruit, meat, dairy, bread and products from local suppliers; it is valued by Warsaw's chefs and restaurateurs. After its 2017 renovation, the Guard Hall combines the functions of a market of regional products, food-stall gastronomy and cultural events; it also houses the Feliks Stamm Boxing Museum.
