Pisz Forest

The Pisz Forest (Puszcza Piska) is the largest woodland complex in Masuria, covering approx. 1,005 km². It borders the Masurian Landscape Park and the Masurian Plain.

Location and surroundings

It lies mainly in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship (including the municipalities of Pisz, Ruciane-Nida, Mikołajki, Piecki, Szczytno), with fragments reaching the Masovian and Podlaskie voivodeships.

Natural attractions

Within the forest lie numerous lakes, some under reserve protection (including Bełdany and Nidzkie), and in the vicinity is Poland's largest lake – Śniardwy.
