Janów Woods (Imielty Ług reserve)

The Janów Woods are an extensive woodland complex in the vicinity of Janów Lubelski, protected within the Janów Woods Landscape Park. One of the most interesting sites is the Imielty Ług nature reserve (created in 1988, area about 804 ha), encompassing raised and transitional bogs, ponds and pine forests.

Location and surroundings

The reserve lies in the western part of the Janów Woods; the educational trail starts in the village of Gwizdów.

Natural assets

The vast wetlands form a refuge for waterfowl and wetland birds.
