Sandomierz Forest

The Sandomierz Forest is one of the larger woodland complexes in south-eastern Poland, situated in the central part of the Sandomierz Basin, in the fork of the Vistula and San rivers. The Natura 2000 area covers over 129,000 ha here.

Location and surroundings

It lies in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, between Tarnobrzeg and Rzeszów, near Stalowa Wola.

Natural assets

Pine forests and pedunculate oaks predominate, interspersed with meadows, fields and fish ponds. Rare bird species occur here.
