The Rudy Forests are protected within the "Cistercian Landscape Compositions of Rudy Wielkie" Landscape Park (established on 23 November 1993), covering an area of 493.87 km² with a buffer zone of 140.10 km², in the eastern part of the Racibórz Basin and on the northern edges of the Rybnik Plateau. The history of these forests is linked to the Cistercian order of Rudy (13th century).
The most valuable is the forest-and-pond "Łężczok" reserve near Racibórz, protecting riparian forests, an avenue of historic trees and oxbow lakes of the Oder.
The area is accessible year-round, admission free.
