Racibórz Forests

The Racibórz Forests are an extensive complex of pine woods in the Racibórz Basin (Racibórz County, Silesian Voivodeship), a remnant of the former Silesian Wilderness. They consist mainly of pine monocultures on sandy soils. In 1992 the area was struck by one of the largest forest fires in post-war Europe; the terrain has been restored and today is an important recreational complex.
