Dulowa Wilderness

The Dulowa Wilderness is a woodland complex covering about 2,600 ha in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, on the border of Chrzanów and Kraków counties, between the A4 motorway and national road 79. It is a remnant of the former wilderness that in the Middle Ages stretched between Kraków and the Przemsza river.

Characteristics

The Chechło stream divides the wilderness into a northern part (Dulowa Forest - dry, sandy, pine and spruce) and a southern part (Bagno Forest, Rudno Forest - wet, low peat bogs, alder carrs, boggy woodland). Beavers have lived here since 1985 (currently about 40 individuals).
