Parczew Forests

The Parczew Forests are a vast forest complex covering most of the area between Parczew, Sosnowica and Ostrów Lubelski, in the Łęczna-Włodawa Lake District (Lublin Province). These are mainly pine forests, often with an admixture of oak, growing on poor, largely boggy and waterlogged habitats.

Nature protection

Rare birds of prey (white-tailed eagle, eagle owl) occur here, as well as beaver, otter, elk and wolf. Nature reserves: Jezioro Obradowskie (81.8 ha), Królowa Droga (38.8 ha), Lasy Parczewskie (157.3 ha).
