Location and surroundings

Wielka Sowa (1,015 m above sea level) is the highest peak of the Owl Mountains (Góry Sowie) in the Central Sudetes, within the Pieszyce municipality (Dzierżoniów County). The massif is built of metamorphic rocks of Precambrian origin.

What to see

On the summit stands a concrete observation tower from 1906 (originally the Bismarckturm), about 25 m high, thoroughly renovated and reopened to visitors in 2006 and again in 2023. The tower offers a sweeping panorama - from Śnieżnik to Śnieżka and from the Trzebnica Hills to the Czech rocks.
