Location and surroundings

Śnieżnik (about 1,423-1,425 m above sea level) is the highest peak of the Śnieżnik Massif in the Eastern Sudetes, on the Polish-Czech border, in Kłodzko County. It lies on the European watershed between the drainage basins of the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea.

Natural values

The summit is built of metamorphic rocks (gneisses, schists). The highest parts are protected by a nature reserve established in 1965 (strict, above 1,150 m, covering about 192 ha).
