Tarnica (1,346 m above sea level) is the highest peak of the Polish Bieszczady (Western Bieszczady), within Bieszczady National Park, near the village of Wołosate (Lutowiska municipality, Bieszczady County). The summit has a narrow, sharp, slightly elongated ridge with two peaks.
From the summit, in good weather, the panorama reaches as far as the Tatras and the Romanian peaks. Tarnica is connected to the neighbouring Szeroki Wierch by the Pass below Tarnica (1,286 m).
On the summit stands an 8.5-metre steel cross, erected in 2000. The peak belongs to the Crown of Polish Mountains.
Routes of moderate difficulty, also popular with families; a region of mountain meadows with exceptional scenic values.
