Łysica

Location and surroundings

Łysica (about 612-614 m above sea level - sources give slight discrepancies after new measurements) is the highest peak of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, in the Łysogóry range, within Świętokrzyski National Park. The ascent starts, among others, from Święta Katarzyna.

Natural values

A characteristic feature of the Łysogóry landscape are the gołoborza - fields of rock debris (quartzite sandstones). The slopes are covered by fir-beech forests of the Świętokrzyska Primeval Forest.

What to see

Trails run through the summit areas with platforms and viewpoints; nearby is the monastery on Święty Krzyż (Łysa Góra).

Routes of moderate difficulty, accessible to families; a popular year-round destination.
