Krągły Goraj

Location and surroundings

Krągły Goraj (388.7 m above sea level) is the highest hill of the Lublin Voivodeship, located on the Eastern Roztocze, near the village of Huta Lubycka (Lubycza Królewska municipality, Tomaszów County). It is the third highest peak of the Polish part of Roztocze (after Wielki Dział and Długi Goraj). Its relative height is about 45 m.

Natural values and history

The summit is built of calcareous sands with thin layers of sandstone and clays, covered by a several-metre cap of reef limestone. Until December 1970 a wooden triangulation tower (about 50 m) stood here. At the foot, bunkers of the Molotov Line have survived.
