Kasprowy Wierch

Kasprowy Wierch (1,987 m a.s.l.) is one of the most frequently visited peaks in the Western Tatras, lying on the Polish-Slovak border in the municipality of Zakopane. The summit is reached by Poland's only high-mountain cable car (from Kuźnice), operating since 1936.

Observatory

At the summit stands the IMGW-PIB High-Mountain Meteorological Observatory (since 1938), the highest-situated building in Poland.

  • Cable car from Kuźnice (open year-round)
  • Green trail via Myślenickie Turnie down to Kuźnice (descent approx. 2:15 h)
  • Yellow trail from Murowaniec via Sucha Przełęcz
  • Red ridge trail towards Świnica and Czerwone Wierchy

A year-round tourist and ski resort (Goryczkowa and Gąsienicowa runs).
