Mylna Cave

Mylna Cave is a self-guided cave in the Kościeliska Valley in the Western Tatras, located in the Raptawicka Turnia massif, just above the Pisana Clearing. The total length of the corridors is 1,630 m, with a vertical range of 46 m. It has two main entrances: the southern one at an altitude of 1,098 m above sea level and the northern one at 1,084 m.

Location and surroundings

The cave is located in the Tatra National Park, in the Kościelisko municipality. It was formed by water erosion of the Kościeliski Stream, as indicated by the pebbles on its floor.

Natural value

The system is made up of corridors and small chambers, often narrow and damp. The accessible sections include the Obłazowa Chamber (with the Pawlikowski Windows), the Great Room (5 × 16 m) and the Great Corridor.

Who it's for

A route of about 300 m is open for self-guided visits without a guide. There is no artificial lighting in the cave - your own light source is required.
