Raptawicka Cave

Raptawicka Cave is a self-guided cave in the Kościeliska Valley in the Western Tatras, located in the Raptawicka Turnia. The entrance is about 180 m above the Kościeliski Stream, at an altitude of 1,146 m above sea level, about 4.4 km from Kiry. The cave is 560 m long, with a vertical range of 27.2 m.

Location and surroundings

The cave is located in the Kościelisko municipality; it is State-owned property managed by the Tatra National Park. The approach along the trail takes about 15 minutes, with the final section secured by a chain.

Natural value

The entrance leads to one large chamber measuring about 10 × 40 m and 10-15 m high. Side corridors branch off from it, including some connecting to neighbouring caves of the Pawlikowski Caves system.
