Malinowska Cave

Malinowska Cave is the largest cave of the Silesian Beskids, located below the summit of Malinów, near Wisła and Malinka. It is a fissure cave 230.5 m long and 19.5 m deep; the entrance is at an altitude of 1,080 m above sea level.

Location and surroundings

The cave lies in the Silesian Beskids range. It was formed in the conglomerates of the Malinowska Rock and Upper Godula sandstones. The main entrance is a narrow fissure about 2.5 × 0.6 m.

Natural value

The largest chamber, called the Gallery, is 13.5 m long and 9.5 m high. There is a constant temperature of about 6°C and high humidity. Known since at least the 15th century, with unconfirmed legends about Hussites and persecuted Protestants.

Who it's for

Since 8 June 2019 the cave has been officially open to visitors after the installation of a descent system - metal ladders, handholds and steps.
