Dziura Cave (Ku Dziurze)

A karst cave in the Ku Dziurze Valley, at the foot of the Ściana nad Dziurą in the Spaleniec ridge, in the Western Tatras. It is the only one of the Tatra caves open for self-guided visiting located outside the Kościeliska Valley - the closest to Zakopane.

Characteristics

  • Length of corridors: about 175 m, about 50 m accessible to tourists
  • The temperature inside ranges from about -6°C in winter to about 4°C in early autumn
  • Your own light source (torch) is required

Access

The short Ku Dziurze Valley trail leads from the Kuźnice roundabout / the vicinity of Zakopane; the cave is one of the most easily accessible Tatra sites, recommended for family trips.

  • No admission fee for the cave itself

Seasonality and hours

Accessible all year round; in winter and early spring the approach may be icy.

From Zakopane on foot or by transport towards Kuźnice, then along the trail through the Ku Dziurze Valley.
