Mamry

Location and surroundings

Mamry is the second largest lake in Poland by area, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in the region of Węgorzewo, in the land of the Great Masurian Lakes. It is a complex of six connected bodies of water: Mamry Północne, Kirsajty, Kisajno, Dargin, Święcajty and Dobskie.

Natural features

Area of about 9,800-10,300 ha, maximum depth about 43.8 m. The complex contains 33 islands with a total area of about 213 ha; the largest is Upałty. The lake belongs to the Masurian sailing route Węgorzewo-Giżycko-Mikołajki-Pisz-Ruciane-Nida.

Valued by sailors and water tourists; among the cleaner and deeper lakes of Masuria.
