Gopło is the largest body of water in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, on which lies Kruszwica. The lake is the heart of the Millennium Park of the Gopło Region, covering the areas of the municipalities of Kruszwica, Piotrków Kujawski and Jeziora Wielkie.
Area of about 2,154.5 ha (one of the larger lakes in Poland), a shallow lake (average about 3.6 m, max about 16.6 m), shoreline about 91 km. Gopło is one of Poland's more important refuges for waterfowl and wetland birds - more than 200 bird species have been observed here.

In Kruszwica, on the lake, rises the Mouse Tower connected with the legend of King Popiel; in season excursion boats operate.
