Lake Wdzydze

Lake Wdzydze, known as the Kashubian Sea, is an extensive complex of connected ribbon lakes in the Tuchola Forest, in the South Kashubian Lake District. It lies within the Wdzydze Landscape Park.

Characteristics

  • Area: approx. 1,417-1,456 ha
  • Maximum depth: approx. 68-69.5 m
  • Type: ribbon lake
  • Forms a system of five connected lakes: Wdzydze, Radolne, Gołuń, Jelenie, Słupinko

Nature

The Wda river flows through the lake. The islands cover a total of approx. 150 ha (including the inhabited Ostrów Wielki).
