Lake Lednica

Lednica is a ribbon lake located between Poznań and Gniezno, in the municipality of Łubowo. It is one of the most important sites in the history of the beginnings of the Polish state.

Historical significance

The lake contains the island of Ostrów Lednicki - one of the presumed sites of the baptism of Mieszko I, with relics of a stronghold and bridges, as well as the Museum of the First Piasts.
