Lake Mietkowskie (Mietków Reservoir)

Lake Mietkowskie is the largest body of water in Lower Silesia, created by damming the Bystrzyca River at Mietków, about 25 km south-west of Wrocław.

  • Construction started 1974, filled by 1986

Attractions and nature

In Borzygniew there is a supervised bathing beach with a water equipment rental. The reservoir is a special protection area for birds (since 2007), an important site for migrating waterfowl (including bean geese).
