Paprocańskie Lake (Paprocany)

Paprocańskie Lake is a body of water in the southern part of Tychy, on the Gostynia River. It is a favourite recreation spot for residents of the city and its surroundings.

Characteristics

  • Area: approx. 132 ha
  • Depth: shallow, usually up to approx. 2.5 m (up to approx. 3.5 m in the Gostynia channel)
  • Water level: approx. 242 m above sea level

Attractions

In the north-eastern part there is a MOSiR centre with a beach and sports pitches, an equipment rental, a campsite and a promenade. On the south-western shore stands a historic hunting palace in Promnice (1861, English Neo-Gothic style).
