Eagles' Nests Landscape Park

A park established in 1981, covering a significant part of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. Its name refers to the medieval castles perched on inaccessible limestone hills (the "eagles' nests").

Location and surroundings

The park lies on the border of the Lesser Poland and Silesian Voivodeships. The Trail of the Eagles' Nests runs along the string of castles (including Ogrodzieniec, Ojców, Pieskowa Skała).

  • The Błędów Desert - the largest area of drifting sands of anthropogenic origin in Poland
  • The "Wind Rose" viewpoint over the extensive dune fields

  • The Błędów Desert covers approx. 30 km2 (currently about 7 km2 of open sand), divided by the valley of the Biała Przemsza
  • The Wind Rose viewpoint with shelters and rest areas

The Wind Rose point is reached by car from the side of Klucze/Chechło.
