Lower Odra Valley Landscape Park

The Lower Odra Valley Landscape Park was established on 1 April 1993. It protects extensive floodplains located between the Eastern Odra and the Western Odra, forming part of a transboundary protected area together with the German Lower Odra Valley National Park.

Area and location

The park covers 60.09 km² (6,009 ha) with an 11.4 km² buffer zone. It lies within the municipalities of Widuchowa, Gryfino and Kołbaskowo.

Natural values

The marshes and peatlands are crisscrossed by more than 200 km of canals and oxbow lakes. The park is an important stopover during the migration of waterfowl and wetland birds, as well as a breeding refuge for the white-tailed eagle, osprey and harriers.
