Krzesin Landscape Park

Krzesin Landscape Park was established on 10 July 1998. It protects the floodplain terrace in the fork of the Odra and the Lusatian Neisse - one of the most important bird refuges in western Poland.

Area and location

The park covers 8,546 ha (85.46 km²) within the municipalities of Gubin, Maszewo and Cybinka (Krosno and Słubice Counties). It has no buffer zone.

Natural values

It includes the ice-marginal valley of the Odra and the Lusatian Neisse, the Krzesin-Bytomiec polder (about 1,600 ha) and the glacial Lake Krzesińskie. It is a breeding site for numerous bird species; the village of Kłopot is famous for one of the largest white stork colonies in Poland.
