Lednica Landscape Park

The Lednica Landscape Park was established on 26 May 1988 to protect the naturally and historically valuable areas around Lake Lednica, the cradle of the Polish state.

Area and location

The park covers 76.184 km². It lies within the municipalities of Kiszkowo, Kłecko, Łubowo (Gniezno county) and Pobiedziska (Poznań county).

Natural and cultural value

Its central element is Lake Lednica with the island of Ostrów Lednicki. The landscape, shaped by the last glaciation, consists of ground-moraine plains, hills and glacial troughs. Around 350 archaeological sites are located within the park.
