Tricity Landscape Park

The Tricity Landscape Park was established on 3 May 1979. It protects forested moraine hills that form the recreational hinterland of the Tricity agglomeration.

Area and location

The park covers 19,930 ha (199.30 km²), with an additional buffer zone of 16,542 ha. It extends across Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot, Rumia, Reda, Wejherowo and the rural municipalities of Wejherowo and Szemud.

Natural value

An undulating moraine landscape shaped 13-15 thousand years ago. Forests (mainly pine with beech, oak and birch) cover about 90% of the area. There are 10 nature reserves, over 60 protected plant species and about 170 natural monuments.
