Łódź Hills Landscape Park

The Łódź Hills Landscape Park was established on 31 December 1996. It protects the varied edge zone of the Łódź Hills to the north-east of Łódź.

Area and location

The park covers 11,580 ha, and its buffer zone 3,083 ha. It lies between Łódź, Brzeziny and Stryków, within the municipalities of Brzeziny, Dmosin, Nowosolna, Stryków and Zgierz.

Natural values

The highest point reaches 284.1 m above sea level. The park contains the largest beech forest of central Poland - the Łagiewniki Forest, one of the largest forest complexes in Europe within a city's boundaries. The Bzura and Mrożyca rivers rise here. There are 735 species of vascular plants and 13 species of bats.
