Kozienice Landscape Park named after Prof. Ryszard Zaręba

The Kozienice Landscape Park was established in 1983. It protects the natural forest landscape of the Kozienice Forest between Radom and Kozienice.

Area and location

The park covers 262.34 km², and together with its buffer zone 360.10 km². It lies within 11 municipalities and the town of Pionki, in the valleys of the Vistula and Radomka.

Natural values

The park protects the old pine and fir stands of the Kozienice Forest. There are 15 nature reserves (totalling 1,267.92 ha), about 200 bird species, 16 bat species, as well as elk, deer and beavers.
