Nida Valley Landscape Park

The Nida Valley Landscape Park was established on 19 December 1986. It protects the Nida valley with gypsum and karst formations unique on a national scale.

Area and location

The park covers 228.886 km², and its buffer zone 263.12 km². It lies within 9 municipalities, including Busko-Zdrój, Pińczów, Wiślica and Nowy Korczyn.

Natural values

The park's axis is the Nida valley with terraced slopes, meanders and oxbow lakes. In the Solec Basin there are gypsum deposits with crystals up to 3.5 m long and karst features: caves, sinkholes, springs and small lakes. There are 9 nature reserves and rare halophilous (salt-loving) vegetation.
