Wiśnicko-Lipnicki Landscape Park

Wiśnicko-Lipnicki Landscape Park was established on 12 May 1997. It protects the Wiśnicz Foothills - one of the most culturally rich parks in Lesser Poland.

Area and location

The park covers 142.31 km² (14,230.79 ha). It lies within the municipalities of Nowy Wiśnicz and Lipnica Murowana in the Wiśnicz Foothills mesoregion.

Natural and cultural values

The landscape is made up of flysch hills (over 500 m), river valleys, ravines, forests and peat bogs, as well as mushroom-shaped rock outcrops. The area features the Kamień Grzyb reserve, 51 species of vascular plants and 119 protected animal species. The region is renowned for its castles, Gothic churches and World War I cemeteries.
