Poprad Landscape Park

Poprad Landscape Park was established on 11 September 1987. It protects the Sądecki Beskids with the dramatic gorge of the Poprad between the Radziejowa and Jaworzyna Krynicka ranges.

Area and location

The park covers 53,419.14 ha, and its buffer zone 25,062.67 ha. It lies within 11 municipalities, including Krynica-Zdrój, Szczawnica, Łącko and Krościenko nad Dunajcem.

Natural values

The highest peak is Radziejowa (1,262 m). The park contains about 20% of Poland's mineral water resources. There are around 1,000 species of flowering plants, 13 nature reserves, as well as wolves, lynxes and bears; an endemic primrose grows here.
