Forests on the Upper Liswarta Landscape Park

The Forests on the Upper Liswarta Landscape Park was established on 21 December 1998. It protects forest complexes and the Liswarta valley in the northern part of the Silesian Voivodeship.

Area and location

The park and its buffer zone together cover 387.31 km² (38,731 ha park + 12,403 ha buffer zone). It encompasses 12 municipalities, including Boronów, Ciasna, Herby, Koszęcin and Woźniki.

Natural values

The axis of the park is the Liswarta valley. Forests occupy about 60% of the area, farmland 30%, and ponds 10%. The park protects forest and meadow communities, peat bogs and wetlands. There are five reserves, five ecological sites and 54 natural monuments.
