Opawskie Mountains Landscape Park

Opawskie Mountains Landscape Park was established on 26 May 1988. It protects the only mountains in the Opole Voivodeship - the eastern part of the Opawskie Mountains near the border with the Czech Republic.

Area and location

The park covers 49.03 km², and its buffer zone 50.33 km². It lies within the municipalities of Prudnik, Lubrza and Głuchołazy.

Natural values

The highest peak is Biskupia Kopa (890 m). There are historic gold-mining sites from the 12th-13th centuries, river gorge valleys and forests (about 80% of the area) of spruce and beech. There are over 500 species of vascular plants and four nature reserves.
