The Tatra National Park (TPN) covers the Polish part of the Tatras - the highest mountain range in the Carpathian arc. Established on 1 January 1955, it protects an area of about 211 km², including Poland's only alpine-type high-mountain zone.
The park is located in the south of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, at the border with Slovakia, where it adjoins the Tatra National Park (TANAP). The directorate's headquarters are in Kuźnice in Zakopane.
For hikers, high-mountain enthusiasts, skiers and naturalists.
Access to the trails is subject to a fee. Tickets can be purchased online and via the SkyCash and mPay apps.
The park is open year-round; the highest tourist traffic is in the summer months (July-September) and during the winter ski season.
Access to Zakopane and the entry points (Kuźnice, Palenica Białczańska, Chochołowska Valley); trails accessible on foot.
