Gorce National Park

Gorce National Park protects the central part of the Gorce - a range of the Western Beskids. Established in 1981, it covers around 70 km² and is notable for its extensive forest cover (Carpathian primeval forest).

Location and surroundings

The park lies in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship; its headquarters are in Poręba Wielka.

What to see / natural highlights

  • Turbacz - the highest peak of the Gorce (outside the park boundary, within the range)
  • Gorce meadows with sweeping views of the Tatras, Pieniny and Beskids
