Lake Solina and bathing areas in Polańczyk

Lake Solina (the Solina Reservoir) is the largest artificial reservoir in Poland by capacity, created on the San River in the Bieszczady Mountains. It is called the "Bieszczady sea". Bathing areas operate on the lake, including in the spa town of Polańczyk.

Location and surroundings

The lake lies in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in Lesko County (Solina commune). Its area is about 22 km², the shoreline about 166 km and the capacity about 472 million m³. The dam in Solina (about 82 m high) is the tallest in Poland. To the north it is surrounded by the Sanok-Turka Mountains, to the south by the Western Bieszczady.
