The Sulejów Reservoir is an artificial retention reservoir on the Pilica River, one of the largest in central Poland, created in 1969-1973 by damming the Pilica. Smardzewice is one of the most popular bathing areas on this body of water.
The reservoir lies in the Łódź Voivodeship, between Sulejów and Smardzewice. The bathing area in Smardzewice is located in a recreational area at 2 Klonowa Street; the sandy beach is about 35 m long with designated bathing zones.
