The Mietków Reservoir and the beach in Borzygniew

The Mietków Reservoir (Lake Mietków) is the largest body of water in Lower Silesia, created by damming the Bystrzyca River with a dam near Mietków, about 25 km south-west of Wrocław. The main supervised beach is located in Borzygniew.

Location and surroundings

The reservoir lies in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in Wrocław County (Mietków commune), in the Bystrzyca Valley within the Bystrzyca Valley Landscape Park. Its area is about 9.29 km², maximum depth about 13 m. The earth-and-concrete dam is about 3.2 km long.
