Hercules' Club

Hercules' Club is a limestone rock outlier with a characteristic club shape, one of the symbols of the Ojców National Park and of the entire Kraków-Częstochowa Upland.

Location and surroundings

The rock stands at the foot of Pieskowa Skała Castle, within the Ojców National Park, near Pieskowa Skała (Sułoszowa commune).

Natural value

  • The rock is approx. 25 m high, set on a lower rocky base
  • Formed by the erosive action of wind, water and frost (limestone rocks)
  • A characteristic karst rock outlier

Who it is for

An attraction for tourists, families and climbers (well known in climbing history).

Practical information

Since 1933, a metal cross has stood on the summit commemorating the first ascent. The rock is associated with the legend of Master Twardowski.
