The Mieszko Oak

An English oak (Quercus robur) growing in Kończyce Wielkie in the Hażlach municipality. The thickest oak in the Silesian Voivodeship.

  • Age over 500 years

History and name

First placed under protection on 7 October 1935, its natural monument status was confirmed on 22 December 1954. The name was given in 2005 in honour of Mieszko of Cieszyn. Next to it grows the smaller Przemko oak.
