Holy Stone

An erratic boulder (augen gneiss) lying about 25 m from the shore in the waters of the Vistula Lagoon near Tolkmicko.

Protection and history

A natural monument since 1977. Considered a Prussian sacrificial stone dedicated to the deity Curche; in the 16th century it was mentioned as "Heiliger Stein". It marked the border between Pogesania and Warmia.

Accessible year-round; the water depth by the stone ranges from ankle- to waist-deep.
