Koronowo Reservoir (Lake Koronowo)

The Koronowo Reservoir is an artificial retention reservoir created on the Brda River, about 25 km north of Bydgoszcz. It was formed after the Brda was dammed at Pieczyska (the reservoir operating since 1960, the power plant since 1961).

Location and surroundings

The reservoir lies in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the Bydgoszcz county, near Koronowo. Its area is about 1560 ha (13.5 km²), and its developed shoreline about 102 km, with numerous bays, islands and wooded surroundings.

For sailors, kayakers and holidaymakers; the reservoir is known for kayaking competitions.
