Szczecin Lagoon

The Szczecin Lagoon is a vast body of water at the mouth of the Oder, lying partly in Poland (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) and partly in Germany. It is connected to the Baltic Sea by the Świna, Piana (Peene) and Dziwna straits.

Location and surroundings

The total area is about 666-687 km², of which the Polish part is around 410 km². The main tributary is the Oder. The lagoon is surrounded by protected areas, including the vicinity of Wolin National Park.
